HOW TO FIND US

Please do not rely on our postcode and Satnav - it will take you in completely the wrong direction!  Search for ‘Crookston House B&B’ in Google Maps or Waize or follow the directions below:

From the North
From the Sheriffhall roundabout on the Edinburgh City Bypass, take the A7 south, passing Newtongrange, Gorebridge and Heriot. Stay on the A7 and approximately 1 ½ miles south of Heriot there is a road on the left, signed Gilston (B6368). Continue past this turning and shortly after there is a layby on the left. The entrance to the Crookston House drive is next on the left (about 200 yards further on), just before the sharp left hand bend and just before the gate lodge which is visible from the road. Crookston House is about ¼ of a mile up the drive.

From the South
When traveling from the south, whether from the east coast which will take you through Lauder or the west coast which brings you up the A7, you need to get to Stow, a village on the A7 approximately 5 miles south of Crookston.

From Stow, take the A7 north. Pass the turning for Fountainhall on the left, continuing on the A7 along the straight and past the quarry on the right.  The road then bends round to the right followed by a slow bend left. The entrance to Crookston House is the first on the right. Take this turn and after about 100 yards, the drive swings to the right and through the Angel Gates, beside a gate lodge. Follow the drive over the bridge, past the entrance to Crookston Stables on the right and up to Crookston House.

If you miss the turning off the A7, don’t panic! You will almost immediately pass the entrance to Crookston Mill on the right, then a few hundred yards further on, Crookston Garden Lodge, also on the right. Go slowly at this point and shortly after you will see a lodge on the right. Turn right immediately after this, drive through the gates and up to Crookston House.
