“Crookston House was built by my family, the Borthwick’s, in 1816 and it has remained in the family’s ownership since then. My husband, Malcolm, and I moved here in 2014, when we took over the running of the house from my parents, John and Adelaide. They now live in an apartment on the lower ground floor, and you are likely to bump into them gardening if you spend time in the grounds! Our two boys, Fred and Will, a menage of dogs, a ginger cat and a brood of hens, who provide your breakfast eggs, may also introduce themselves to you at some point during your stay.”
An exciting new chapter is being planned for 2022 when we intend to install, subject to planning consent, two fabulous, bespoke shepherd’s huts within the Crookston grounds. Click on the image below for more information:

‘A lovely place to stay; very comfortable and the most gorgeous room. Also a sitting room for guests - with tea, hooray! Hosts are as nice and welcoming as you could possibly wish. And all a short drive from Edinburgh.’
